About Calvin Ayre
Calvin Ayre has proven throughout his life that he is always on a course to new heights; making an impact as he rises. Perhaps the obvious pun on his surname shouldn’t be overlooked.
Now with a home base in Antigua, where he’s called home since 2006, the prolific venture capitalist is focused on improving the lives of the people of the twin-island nation. This is achieved through the pioneering work of the Ayre Group, the Calvin Ayre Foundation (CAF) and now, satisfying a critical and valuable service via CalvinAir Helicopters (CAH).
The best of its breed in all-purpose helicopter operations, the company is the region’s first and only to commercially operate a fleet of state-of-the-art Airbus EC130 helicopters. These aircraft are globally known to be the gold standard in helicopter aerial touring machines offering services across the spectrum; from VIP travel, custom charters, aerial photography and megayacht support.
However, the areas that resonate most with Calvin’s philanthropic side are the crucial services of search and rescue and emergency medical airlift. His propensity for seeing farther into the distance, caused Calvin to be concerned that there was no dedicated aircraft to assist in cases that involve critical health issues or trauma. It was no surprise that he made the decision very early on, that if the need ever arose, his Foundation (CAF) would cover the cost of emergency flights.
Over the years, the company has honoured that decision countless times, assisting with lifesaving medical airlift as well as search and rescue missions. Some of those stories can be read about here.
As Special Economic Envoy to Antigua and Barbuda, Calvin considers it his duty in assisting the government and people of his adopted home in diversifying its economy, by providing resources and sound economic advice. His hands are certainly full, but beyond a doubt, the sky is truly the limit for a man who constantly envisions not just limitless expansion possibilities, but also leaving the world a much better place than he found it.
