Antigua and Barbuda signs Air Service Agreement with France

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda recently signed an air services agreement with the French Republic, the first such agreement between France and an OECS Member State. Under the new agreement Antigua and Barbuda has designated LIAT 1974 Ltd and CalvinAir Helicopters as its national carriers while the French authorities have designated Air France, Air Antilles, St Barth Commuter and St Barth Executive as its designated national airlines on the routes.

Stab wound victim medically evacuated to Antigua for treatment

The Big Stories – Antigua Observer A 42-year-old man is now recovering at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC) after allegedly receiving a stab wound to the lower right abdomen on the sister-isle over the weekend. The patient was medically evacuated to seek further surgical attention on the mainland.

A Barbudan teen is now doing much better, after experiencing a medical emergency on the sister isle on Thursday, June 3. Fourteen year-old Patrice Jeffrey and her mom, Ionie Jeffrey, spent a tiring 24-hours at the Hanna Thomas Hospital, where the teen’s condition was considered serious enough for Head Resident Doctor, Dr. Jeremy Deazel, to recommend that she be medevac’d to the Mt. St. John’s Medical Centre.
